Very rare prototype with different engraving style, from 1958 onwards Schneider-Kreuznach produced the 21 mm Super-Angulon for Leitz. The 4/21 mm Super-Angulon, introduced in 1958, is a nine-glass construction in chrome finish and was available in screwmount and bayonet-mount. Its successor was the eight-element f3.4 lens, which was produced in chrome and black finish in bayonet-mount. At the 1980 Photokina Leitz introduced its own 21 mm lens, the Elmarit f2.8. The offered lens is a prototype or sample by Schneider differing from the serial production models, with Schneider rear cap and in perfect condition.
